ASSEMBLY

Our assembly process is easy and time-efficient thanks in part to its industry-leading design! In fact, all the instructions are visual-based, allowing you to follow each step along the journey towards a finished chair. The assembly starts with the creation of the seatback using individual slats and a series of bracers to keep them together. Afterwards, the chair base itself is put together, involving the attachment of slats to three pieces that form the edges and maintain the chair’s shape. Next comes the chair legs, affixed to the base, followed by the installation of the armrests. The last step involves adding the assembled seatback to the base, completing the build of your beautiful new foldable Adirondack chair. Need more information?                                                  OUR MATERIALS

Knotted White Pine

Knotted white pine is one of the most common materials used in the creation of chairs and other furniture. This beautiful and well-loved wood is distinctive for its large knots that give an item of furniture an old-world and sophisticated look. Its natural light color and ability to withstand different temperatures makes it a great choice for outdoor furniture. Knotted white pine is an excellent choice for those looking for a more economical option for their outdoor Adirondack chairs and furniture. Although pine lacks the weather-resistant qualities of cedar, it performs well when sealed and maintained on a regular basis.

Knotted Western Red Cedar

Knotted cedar is a very popular type of wood used for Adirondack chairs and furniture. It generally has a slight grain and a medium to coarse texture which can help to provide some interesting textual effects. Knotted cedar is the perfect choice for those seeking the more traditional look of knots and burls with the durability of western red cedar. With its natural ability to resist decay and insect infestation, knotted cedar is a natural choice to use for quality outdoor furniture.

Clear Western Red Cedar

Clear cedar is much like knotted cedar except that it doesn’t have the knots. This is what makes it ‘clear’ and it is a good option for those who want to have more of a minimalistic look when they are making furniture. When it’s used in chair making, clear western red cedar provides a lot of good color and texture but it looks cleaner on the whole than knotted cedar or when compared to other woods like pine. All in all, it’s a lovely wood to work with, and it can produce some beautiful chairs and furniture.

Luxury Brazilian Walnut (IPE)

Brazilian Walnut, also known as IPE, is an exotic South American Hardwood that is truly unmatched by other woods in beauty and strength. It is seeing significant growth in popularity as a material of choice for superior quality Adirondack chairs and outdoor furniture. Not only is Brazilian walnut an excellent choice for your outdoor furniture, its beauty, durability and toughness against all the elements have made it a favorite choice for commercial uses as well.

FAQ

Are Adirondack chairs comfortable?

Adirondack chairs are optimized to provide ergonomic comfort. Therefore, the backs of the chairs are steep and angled. Combined with spacious armrests and a deep, angled seat, one of these is certain to become the new favorite patio chair that everyone will want to enjoy.

Are Adirondack chairs weather resistant?

We design and build our products to last for generations, not just for a couple of years. Regardless of the type of wood or alternative materials used in the construction of your Adirondack chair of choice, rest assured that it will weather everything from downpours to wicked winds with ease. By reapplying stain or adding a lick of paint in the years to come, you can further extend the lifespan of your purchase.

What's the most popular Adirondack chair?

Our Classic Adirondack Chair product is a classic for a reason – folks can’t get enough of them! The same goes for our larger Royal Adirondack Chair, both of which can be folded in half for easy storage and transportation. These chairs are also available in a wide range of wood species as well as Poly-Luxe synthetic lumber, the latter of which is made from 100% post-consumer recycled materials.

How do I clean my Adirondack Chair?

Adirondack chairs can generally be cleaned with soap and water. It’s best to do this once every week or so to ensure your outdoor furniture looks as good as new. For more details relevant to specific species of wood or Poly-Luxe, explore our in-depth blog on Adirondack chair maintenance.

What are the shipping options for Adirondack chairs?

Our products are handcrafted with care in North America, and we don’t believe in sticker shock by tacking on shipping fees afterwards. That’s why our prices include shipping to either the Continental U.S. For Canadian customers, shipping is included for anywhere in Canada other than the Yukon, Northwest Territories, and other remote locations where FedEx cannot deliver. Please note that restocking fees and shipping charges apply to all returns or exchanges.

How do your Adirondack chairs compare to others?

We put quality, longevity, and customer satisfaction before anything else. This is evidenced by our industry-leading design philosophy, material sourcing and quality assurance methods, best-in-class guarantees and commitment to workmanship, and even our ever-widening range of order options available to you.

What is the weight capacity for Adirondack chairs?

The approximate weight capacity limit will vary depending on the type of Adirondack chair you decide to order. Our Folding Classic Adirondack Chair products, for instance, can support up to 300 pounds. View the product page for the specific type of chair that interests you to learn more about its weight restrictions, seat dimensions, and more.

Do I need to build your Adirondack chairs?

Unlike select other manufacturers, we prefer to give you plenty of choice. We offer pre-assembled Adirondack chairs for added convenience, which are handcrafted and built with care to last for decades to come. Alternatively, for an even more affordable solution, consider our Adirondack chair kits, which are easy to assemble while also utilizing high-quality components. Holes are pre-drilled as well.

Are your Adirondack chairs foldable?

By design, many of our Adirondack chair models are designed to fold up and be stowed away with ease. This is ideal for those who like to take their favorite chair with them on the go, store patio furniture away for long winters, or move their seating set up around.

Are your Adirondack chairs environmentally friendly?

Absolutely. Not only are our wooden chairs naturally biodegradable and sustainably sourced in a responsible manner, but we also offer Poly-Luxe products that are made with 100% post-consumer recycled materials. This option diverts waste away from landfills and helps us to look after the world we share!

100% Recycled Poly-Luxe

Poly-Luxe is ideal for outdoor Adirondack furniture with its weather-resistance, minimal maintenance and beautiful appearance. With its exceptional resistance to moisture, fading, insects, splintering, warping and other environmental stresses it can outlast wood or wood fiber composite products. Requires no waterproofing, staining, or other common recurring maintenance other than the occasional washing with soap and water to remove dirt and debris. Very color stable due to UV pigment systems that resist breakdown from prolonged sun and weather exposure.
